Slow performance

Slow startup can come from failing storage, insufficient memory, background software, overheating or an old processor. Diagnose before replacing parts.

Overheating and fan noise

Dust, blocked vents, failing fans, dried thermal material and heavy software load can raise temperatures. Continued overheating can damage components.

Battery and charging faults

A worn battery, damaged charger, charging port or motherboard circuit can cause similar symptoms. Use the correct charger and test the system.

Display and hinge damage

A cracked screen, damaged cable or hinge can worsen with use. Back up data and repair structural damage before it affects more components.

Protect data first

Important files should be backed up before major repair or operating-system work.
